Get TeraBox videos onto a Mac without installing anything

What you need first
- The share must not be locked with a password, because nothing can open a locked share without that password.
- The file must still exist at the source. If the owner deleted it, the share stops working and no tool can recover it.
- You need a desktop browser on macOS. The measurements here were taken on a MacBook Air M2 with macOS 15 and Safari 18.4.
Step by step
Open TeraSaver and paste the link
Open TeraSaver in Safari and paste the TeraBox share link into the input field. A link carries its code either as a path segment after /s/ or as a surl query parameter. You do not need to sign in to read metadata for a public share.
Wait for the file list to load
The file list appears without signing in. In the test run, the median time to see the list was 2.0 seconds. Shares can contain nested folders, which are walked one level at a time. If you see "This link is password protected" or "This file has been deleted at the source", the share cannot be opened.
Choose the video and start the download
Select the video from the list. Desktop browsers save to the Downloads folder unless you set the location to ask each time. A 333 MB sample downloaded in 3 m 42 s on a 120 Mbps fibre connection. You can run several downloads at once.
Resume if the connection drops
Desktop browsers can pause and resume downloads from the downloads page. The final CDN address answers range requests, so resuming works. If you see a 429 error, wait briefly. A 504 means the source took too long to respond. A 403 means the share itself is refusing access.
Open or convert the file if needed

Why this works
When you paste a share link, the metadata for a public share is readable without signing in, so no credentials are needed. The tool walks the share, including nested folders, and presents the file list. When you click download, the final address comes from the source CDN, so the file travels directly from TeraBox to your Mac and never passes through TeraSaver. That address answers range requests, so a player can seek and a download manager can resume. Desktop browsers also pause and resume downloads, and handle several at once. When it does not work
This link is password protected.
The share owner has locked the link with a password. TeraSaver sees HTTP 401 PASSWORD_REQUIRED.
No tool can open the share without that password. Ask the owner for the password and then retry.
This file has been deleted at the source.
The file no longer exists on the source side. TeraSaver sees HTTP 410 SHARE_DELETED.
The file is gone and cannot be recovered by any tool. Ask the owner to re-upload it.
Too many requests. Please try again shortly.
The source is rate-limiting requests. HTTP 429 RATE_LIMITED is retryable and clears on its own.
Wait a short while and try the same link again. Do not hammer the link repeatedly.
The source took too long to respond.
The source server did not answer in time. HTTP 504 UPSTREAM_TIMEOUT is retryable and is not caused by your own connection speed.
Wait a moment and retry the link. If it keeps failing, try again later.
Limits worth knowing
- A password-protected share cannot be opened by TeraSaver or any other tool without the password. There is no bypass.
- Not every share link opens. In the test of 73 share links across all 8 domains, 92.6% opened; the rest failed at the source, for example with SHARE_DELETED, and TeraSaver cannot change that.
- MKV and AVI downloads work, but macOS does not open them in the Photos app. For those formats, VLC is the better tool on a Mac because it plays them without converting the file.
Safety, privacy and rights
We can see the file names, sizes and folder layout of a public share, but the video itself is never stored on our servers. It goes straight from TeraBox to your device. We do not ask for or store TeraBox login details. A password-protected share stays locked: nobody can open it without the password the owner set. If the owner deletes the file, no tool can recover it. When a link fails with 403, the share itself is refusing access, not a typo in the link.
